Hi, I'm Katrin Barshe, a designer based in Melbourne, Florida.
Right now I design interfaces for unmanned marine and environmental systems. That means layouts, gauges, modals, and real time data screens that an operator needs to read quickly and trust, not just something that looks good in a mockup. A lot of my day is spent talking with engineers, taking sensor data and hardware constraints and turning them into a screen a person can actually use in the field.
Before moving from Siberia to the United States, I worked on design and social media for food and packaging brands, and spent almost seven years running the corporate identity for a national medical research center, including materials for over 30 conferences and events. After the move, I built the build manual for RoboNation's SeaGlide STEM kit before landing in interface design. So my background moves between technical documentation, branding, and interface design, and I like it that way.
I also paint. If you want to see that side of my work, it's at katrinbarshe.com.
